April Pick 24

Spring is officially finally here, YAY! To celebrate I have brought in a couple of fun new wines starting with a bubbly Voveti Prosecco. Vovetti meaning ‘to promise’ is a nice bracing Prosecco that offers vibrant fruit and refreshing bubbles. This month we are starting the season off right with a couple of beautiful Austrian wines: Loimer Riesling and Green Eyes Gruner Veltliner, perfect for your Easter feast!

There are also some great patio pleasers in the mix, like Santa Carolina Chardonnay, Elk Cove Pinot Noir 2009 and Foxglove Cabernet Sauvignon 2009.  For all you hardy wine lovers I have Cycle Buff Beauty a shiraz blend with its big tannins and blue floral aromatics that’ll keep you yearning for more and Mother’s Ruin Cabernet that will stand up to any grilled feast.

Last but not least I have Ornellaia Le Volte 2009; Ornellaia is one of Tuscany’s most prestigious wineries and this month we are featuring one of their ‘masterpieces’ the Le Volte. The hot and sunny 2009 vintage gave us a remarkably appealing Le Volte, with rich, intense fruit and spice notes, and no trace of over-ripeness. On the palate boasts a smooth, velvety mouth-feel, with glossy tannins and a lively, crisp acidity, both contributing to its impressive balance, and it concludes with very lengthy finish. ~winemaker
