Thursday, August 6th Vine & Table is pleased to welcome back one of our oldest friends… with a bit of a twist. From 6 – 7:30 we will be hosting Ed Kohl, keeper of the Quaich and one of our favorite scotch importers, in an online exhibition. This time around, however, we won’t be talking scotch but rather traveling across the waters to explore our own nation and its signature spirits, bourbon and rye. Please join us as we chat about Ed’s first domestic acquisition, J.W. Kelly.
While the distillery was only recently resurrected J.W. Kelly actually traces its roots, and its recipe, to 1866, almost twenty years before another Tennessee distillery beginning with J entered the whisky scene. Created by an Irish immigrant by the name of James Watts Kelly the brand sought to combine old world methods with new world ingenuity to produce a world class spirit. Ed will be presenting three spirits based on Kelly’s original recipes and it just so happens that we have all four available for purchase so you can taste along with him. So pick up a few bottles at the store or online, let us know you’re coming by registering for the event, and join us for an evening of fine spirits.
