the countdown begins…

…to Vine & Table’s 3rd Annual Whisky & Fine Spirits Expo which will be held on Friday, October 28th 2011 at The Montage at Allison Pointe. This is an event like no other in the State of Indiana or the Midwest for that matter.

The event is all about the wonderful world of Spirits, from single malt and blended Scotch to Irish whiskies and bourbons and from fine rums to tequila and cognac and a plethora of other unique spirits and liqueurs. The event is education-focused, so whether you are a newbie to the world of fine spirits or whether you are a whisky geek this is the event for you. From start to finish this event is planned by the staff at Vine & Table. We have full control over which  vendors attend the event so our aim is to bring to you companies and products that best fit what Vine & Table is all about. We also strive to have distillers and brand ambassadors present to educate and answer what questions you may have.

The highlight of this year’s event for me is our ‘Hair of the Dog’ silent auction benefiting The Humane Society of Indianapolis. We chose the Humane Society this year for two reasons. One, the Society does tremendous work within the greater Indianapolis area to provide essential services to both animals and humans alike. The other reason is that the majority of the staff here at Vine & Table are animal lovers, and as such we feel that it is very important to give back to the community in a positive way.  The Humane Society is a non-profit organization that is supported solely by contributions, grants, adoption fees so I would ask you to be generous when bidding. There are already some fantastic prizes lined up from tickets to an Indianapolis Colts game to dinner for two at a special restaurant to vintage wines and collectable whiskies.

This year we have teamed up with Corey Johnston owner of Indy Cigar and Bourbon Bar to provide everybody with a complimentary cigar which can be enjoyed on our lakeside heated patio. Cory will also provide a special cigar gift pack for all VIP attendees.

During the course of the event you will also have the opportunity to attend several master classes. Master classes are short seminars given by experts in their fields. This year I am delighted to welcome Chris Morris, Master Distiller for Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky along with Andrew Hogan, Global Brand Manager for The Arran Distillery who is flying in from Scotland to be with us.

What with cocktails crafted by mixologists and a gourmet buffet provided by our sister company, Kahn’s catering, there is a lot to look forward to with this year’s event.

To avoid disappointment, I would encourage you to book your tickets as soon as possible.
