The Perfect Spritz Prosecco

In the last few years, there has been a big surge in the popularity of sparkling wine cocktails. Just to name a few, there is the Aperol Spritz, French 75, Mimosa, and the Bellini. Our prosecco today does double duty, being great both on its own and great in cocktails.

Indigenous Prosecco comes from an outstanding portfolio of Italian wines that include some of the best wineries in Italy, given the wide variety that comes from the Northern Italy where prosecco is made, this is saying something. Indigenous Prosecco has the perfect spritz bubbles because it is a much drier style of this region, with no added sugar (unlike many of the wines of the region). This void of sweetness lets us control how sweet we want our cocktail, as opposed to having to compensate for how much sugar the wine has. If you want to forgo the mixing and just sip it straight — there is plenty of crisp citrus notes, honeydew, and white flowers. On top of being drier, it also has a little more spritz to it than a normal prosecco (another reason why it’s great for cocktails).

This wine shines in a classic spritzy cocktail and these drinks make the ideal sipper for the hot days ahead. The Aperol Spritz is the most popular cocktail in Italy. The recipe for the cocktail is about as simple as it gets, with just three ingredients (or two if you want it a little more wine forward). Plus here are a few options for you to custimize to your preference…
